We at St. Matthew’s Church are grateful to the Lord for providing us with the opportunity to offer our time and services at this nursing home for the past four years.

The emphasis of our visitation is to bring the care and love of Jesus Christ to the lives of the residents at the home who are often times forgotten or to some who have outlived their family members.

The visitation team visits the nursing home every fourth Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The volunteers will play games, sing Karaoke and conduct handicraft activities with the residents.

These community services strengthens the ability of our congregation to engage in future social service outreach ministry activities.

We have successfully organized many events during festive seasons such as Chinese Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival and Christmas.  At such celebrations, we gladly see the keen participation of many church members, young and old.  At such events, we could see the united spirit of the church members coming together in Unity for Christ.

Hence, let us all leave our comfort zone and step out to reach out to these communities, to show the agape love of our Lord as the Saviour commissions us  in his Word ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind’. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’. (Matthew 22: 37 – 39, NIV)

Do remember ‘GOD is LOVE’.
